Hi all,
I am looking to purchase an iPhone 4g along with a nationwide plan with AT&T.
Can anyone suggest the best type of plans/packages?
Also, what would be the best type of data plan to buy: as the unlimited data plans are no longer being offered with the iPhone?
thanks

First off not that it really matters i guess but the name is the iPhone 4 not the iPhone 4G, anyways it all depends on how much you use the phone . If the cell is your second phone and you relaly only use it when you leave the house then the 450 minute plan with 5000 night and weekend minutes may be more than sufficent for you. if its your only phone then i would try the 900 minute plan with unlimited nights and weekends and A-List which lets u have unlimited calling to 5 numbers of your choosing .. i'd start there and if you burn through the 900 mins then switch to the unlimited plan . As for data you have 2 choices 250 mb for $15 or 2GB for $25. Same rule applies here, if you wont use the phone much for internet access away from anywhere where you have wi fi access then 250mb will be fine. if allyou do id browse websites and check your mail andetc then 250 mb may be fine as well. but if you plan to use apps like pandora or skype and don't think you be around wi fi a whole lot then go for the 2GB plan . Also in your first month monitor your usage and adjust your plan before that first billing cycle is up and you'll be fine i just got mine today and am still getting used to this touch screen thing but its a cool phone thus far.

if you are new to AT&T or are eligible for an upgrade its $199 for 16GB and $299 for the 32GB. i believe you subtract $50 and $100 respectively for 3GS models of the same capacity and there is now an 8GB 3gs for $99. Personally i went for the 32GB iPhone 4 since i prefer to use my phone as my mp3 player as well and don't want to have to carry multiple devices.

I'll probably get a 32-gig phone as well so I can use it as a backup IPod if my Touch ever goes on the blink.

What's terible is the highway robbery AT&T is now committing with there so called Data plan for the iPhone4.
It's rather unfortunate that unlimited data plans can no longer be purchased with a two-year contract. :(

I am just hopeful that apple will realize that they would make more money if they expanded there phones to other carriers. I used to have a t nt and hated it lol

I seriously doubt at&t will be the only ones doing away with the unlimited data plan. It was just a few months ago that verizon began to required a minimum data plan of 9.95 on all internet capable phones.
I suspect that others will fall in line with this in short order.
